In a memo by Bethany R Montenegro-Sankara to the "brave souls" of the UESC Equanimity, she described the how the members of Project Marathon potentially had to move on to candidate from a list of alternate Colonization Targets that "Icarus surely compiled" during their time on Tau Ceti IV, although they received no such list.[1][note 2]

Notes[edit]
- ^ Icarus is a famous character in Greek mythology, who ignored the warnings of his father Daedalus, and perished by flying a set of wings made with wax too close to the sun.
- ^ In his memo, Bernhard describes Tycho as "proactive; assertive," exact terminology he used to describe Icarus. Given the two's roles as science AI, and the similar disposition, it becomes more clear as to why them interacting could be problematic.
